Dr. Kastner of Kastner Dental Care has been awarded the prestigious Humanitarian Award by the Ohio Dental Association for his work in the Toledo area, the United States, and foreign countries.
On six occasions, Dr. Kastner has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the American Dental Association for work in the Dominican Republic (1985, 1987), Costa Rica (1990), Nepal (1994), and Nicaragua (2000, 2001). He has also provided humanitarian service in Guatemala.
Dr. Kastner currently assists with forensic dental identification at the Coroner’s Office and is a captain of Ohio’s Mass Disaster Team.
In December 2001, Dr. Kastner assisted the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York in the dental identification of World Trade Center victims. He was presented with an American Spirit Award by Ohio Governor Bob Taft and Certificate of Recognition from the Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York and New York Congressman Voto J. Fossella.
In 1997, he received Manchester College’s highest award, the Alumni Honor Award. He was been named to Marquis Who’s Who on numerous occasions.
In 2003, Dr. Kastner was elected to fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists, two of the highest honors bestowed in dentistry.
Periodically, he assists in veterinary dentistry at the Toledo Zoo. In his spare time, Dr. Kastner enjoys travel, photography, playing sports, and outdoor activities.
